“Faith don't come in a bushel basket, missy. It comes one step at a time.
Decide to trust Him for one little thing today, and before you know it, you
finnd out He's so trustworthy you'll be putting your whole life in His hands.”
― Lynn Austin
Rely on Him.
Anytime we demonstrate faith, we’re relying on something. When you sit in a chair, you’re relying on the chair’s manufacturer to produce something that will hold you up. When you’re on the freeway, you’re relying on every other driver around you. Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death”. That's the problem with relying on yourself. We’re often wrong. Human intuition is not reliable. In fact, it’s just good enough to make us think we’re right – even when we’re not. When you rely on your own strength, your results will only be as good as what you can do. When you rely on God, your results are blessed. Your possibilities become limitless because you are relying on His strength. God is reliable. He knows what you need, and He wants to meet those needs. You may say to God, “I have never seen you provide for me.” Well God says to you, “You have never trusted Me to!” Unfortunately, we think we know better than God. We think we have a better plan. We want to use our logic and get to the answer in a way that makes us look good – and doesn't require risk. But God wants us to grow, and become better, so he takes us a different way. Many times in Scripture, God asks us to do what doesn't make sense to our logic. The Bible never says "figure it out," instead it says "trust God" over and over again. "Because we trust Him, we obey what He says – even if it doesn't make sense to us. Trust God for joy in your life and rely on Him to give it to you.
